孟宪成，1953年被派往苏联、捷克斯洛伐克、匈牙利等国家学习舞台美术设计，是国家最早派出留苏留欧的艺术专家。在总政文工团的30年工作中，他主持和参加了上千个节目的舞台美术设计，为上百部话剧、歌剧、舞剧、京剧和电影设计布景与服饰。特别是担纲大型音乐舞蹈史诗《东方红》舞台美术设计，并亲手题写了“东方红”三字。其它创作包括话剧《冲破黎明前的黑暗》、《万水千山》、《千秋大业》，歌剧《白毛女》、《刘胡兰》，芭蕾舞剧《红色娘子军》，舞剧《骄杨颂》，合唱《长征组歌》等。这位热爱生活、富有激情和创新精神的绘画大师，深受民族解放与国家复兴的鼓舞，他创造出水粉画的多种技法，用水粉画颜料绘出多种风格的美轮美奂佳作，为新中国文艺的繁荣和舞台美术事业的发展作出了杰出贡献。

Meng Xiancheng was sent to the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and other countries in 1953 to study stage art design. He is the country's earliest art experts sent to study in Soviet and Europe. In his 30 years of work, he hosted and participated in the stage art design of thousands of programs, designing sets and costumes for hundreds of plays, operas, dance plays, Beijing Opera and movies. In particular, the mega-scale music and dance epic "The East Is Red" stage art design, and personally wrote three characters of "The East Is Red". Other works include drama "Breaking through the Dark Before Dawn ", @Thousands of Mountains "," Great Cause of Autumn ", opera" White Hair Girl "," Liu Hulan ", ballet "Red Lady Army ", dance drama" Song of Pride Yang ", chorus "Long March Group Song" and so on. Inspired by national liberation and national rejuvenation, the master of painting who loves life is full of passion and innovative spirit, created a variety of techniques for painting water powder, and painted beautiful works of various styles with water powder paint. He made outstanding contributions to the flourishing of new Chinese literature and art as well as the development of stage art.

2019年12月16日，中国著名舞台美术家和著名画家孟宪成先生2幅作品（1幅水粉画、1幅舞台美术设计图）捐赠仪式在中国美术馆举行。

捐赠的两幅佳作是经由中国美术馆收藏专家委员会的严格评审，孟宪成先生于1980年创作的《阵阵清香》水粉画作，及其于1973年创作的一幅舞台美术设计作品被列入中国美术馆的收藏序列，并永久收藏在中国美术馆。

On December 16,2019, the donation ceremony of two works (1 water painting and 1 stage art design) by famous Chinese stage artist and famous painter Mr.Meng Xiancheng was held at the China Art Museum.

The donation of two masterpieces was vigorously reviewed by the Committee of Collection Experts of the Chinese Art Museum. Mr. Meng Xiancheng's painting of "bursts of fragrance" in 1980 and a stage art design work created in 1973 were included in the collection sequence of the Chinese Art Museum and permanently collected in the Chinese Art Museum.
